Transition Resources:

 

9th and 10th grade: Pre-employment transition services (PETS)

 

OVR’s Pre-Employment Transition Services are intended to support your child’s secondary transition by providing opportunities to participate in early career planning activities that build knowledge and skills to prepare for life after high school. As part of these services, your child will be introduced to the following concepts: Self-Advocacy, Job Exploration, and Workplace Readiness.

11th and 12th grade: OVR is a state agency that provides vocational rehabilitation services to help persons with disabilities prepare for, obtain, or maintain employment. OVR provides services to eligible individuals with disabilities, both directly and through a network of approved vendors. Services are provided on an individual basis.

 

OVR offers a wide range of services. They include, but are not limited to: Diagnostic Services, Vocational Evaluation, Counseling, Training, Restoration Services, Placement Assistance, Assistive Technology, and Support Services.

 

In some cases, OVR can also pay for a portion of continuing education, such as college or technical school.
