Chestnut Ridge is nationally recognized for our outstanding achievements, here is how we did at the 2015 State Leadership Conference
The Chestnut Ridge chapter of the Future Business Leaders of America continued its legacy of excellence by bringing home national honors from the 64th National Leadership Conference held in Chicago, Illinois, from June 27 to July 3. Fifteen members, one advisor, and one chaperone attended this event.
More than 11,000 of America's best and brightest youth traveled to the bustling city of Chicago to compete against the best in the nation as they showcased their talents as future business leaders and vied for the opportunity to win over $165,000 in cash awards.
The parliamentary procedure team of Rachel Dikum, Austin Taylor, Kianna Claar, Skylee Palicka, and Megan Anderson earned second place and a $500 scholarship. The Emerging Business Issues Sarah Ryan earned tenth place in Client Service. Kimberly Bischof was also recognized on stage as Pennsylvania's Who's Who recipient.
Other competitors included the following: Aaron Burkett, Cory Schade, and Jay Grubb in Business Plan Project. Emeligh Mowry competed in Public Speaking II. Lene Willey and Aaron Burkett competed in the Partnership With Business Project. Kimberly Bischof competed in Future Business Leader.
The Chestnut Ridge chapter was also recognized as an "Outstanding Chapter" in the nation and was also awarded the Hollis and Kitty Guy Gold Seal Award of Merit. Hannah Miller was also recognized as a recipient of the America Award, the highest level of the Business Achievement Awards.
Skylee Palicka began her term as Pennsylvania's State Parliamentarian. The new state officers served as ambassadors for the Pennsylvania delegation.
The Emerging Business Issues team of Hannah Miller, Toshia Rush, and Megan Diehl earned sixth place. Sarah Ryan garnered tenth place in Client Service.
