Virtual Academy
The Chestnut Ridge Virtual Academy provides students with an educational experience designed to offer flexibility of scheduling, individualized instruction, and the opportunity to participate in a wide variety of district activities. Online curriculum and instruction are aligned to the Pennsylvania Academic Standards as approved by the Pennsylvania State Board of Education and are supported by the state certified and highly qualified members of the Chestnut Ridge School District professional teaching staff. As with our traditional brick-and-mortar educational program, successful completion of district graduation requirements as a Virtual Academy student will result in a Chestnut Ridge School District diploma. Students enrolled in the Virtual Academy can expect to be actively engaged in their online courses for 45 minutes per course daily. Virtual Academy students follow the Chestnut Ridge District calendar. All Virtual Academy students who choose to participate in district extracurricular activities or athletics will be monitored for eligibility purposes.
Attendance will be monitored daily for Virtual Academy students. Academic progress will be tracked and monitored via Powerschool. Students will be required to attend weekly face-to-face meetings until academic success in a virtual environment has been established.
All Virtual Academy students will be expected to follow all school policies and procedures, including the Technology Acceptable Use Policy.

All interested students must complete the online application. Your submission will be reviewed and you will be contacted to schedule a face-to-face meeting. All online students and a parent/guardian are required to attend a mandatory entrance interview.
